- Canada is recognized free of foot-and-mouth disease, rinderpest, and peste des petits ruminants.
- The exported product originated from animals born and raised in Canada or legally imported into Canada, which
- 2.1 according to Canadian laws and regulations, were not fed of meat and bone meal or greaves of ruminant origin to ruminants.
- 2.2 with an identification traceability system so can be traced back to the original farm of origin.
- 2.3 have not been found positive for BSE under the effective control of Canada's BSE surveillance program
- 2.4 were slaughtered at Canadian slaughterhouses or originated from outside slaughterhouses, and did not show symptoms of any reportable disease as defined in the Canadian reportable diseases regulations and that could be transmitted to public or animal through the industrial tallow.
- The exported product has not been processed from imported raw material nor be mixed with tallow imported into Canada from a country not approved by AQSIQ.
- The products have been processed in an establishment operating under a permit issued by CFIA and which is registered with General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ).
- The products have been processed from raw material subjected to a heat treatment at a temperature not less than 70 °C ( °C) for a period of time not less than 20 mins ( minutess).
- The products were subject to measures to avoid contamination during and after processing.
- The exporter confirms that the means of transportation was clean at the time of being loaded at the rendering facility and that measures were taken to prevent cross-contamination of tallow on the way from the rendering facility to the port of departure.
- The products have been analysed by a laboratory recognized by CFIA and found to have a maximum insoluble impurities not exceeding 0.15% in weight.
